Hi, I'm Savannah. A Brooklyn-based visual artist, curator, and activist whose work moves fluidly across portraiture, landscapes, and activism. My images navigate the in-between spaces of selfhood, autonomy, and transformation.
My series I Am My Own Muse challenges the traditional structures of the male gaze, positioning the female body not only as subject but as author. Assertive and unapologetic, the work reclaims self-representation as an act of agency. The series draws inspiration from feminist artists such as Carolee Schneemann and Francesca Woodman, while engaging the formalism of Richard Avedon and Irving Penn. Her photographs have been acquired by private collectors worldwide and are permanently installed at Tom Ford’s flagship store in Houston. From 2011 to 2017, I created and curated Hotter Than July, a New York–based erotic art series that became a space of reclamation and resistance, where women reasserted control over their bodies, sexuality, and desire with autonomy and power. In 2020, I co-founded Don't Delete Art (DDA), an artist-led initiative that advocates for artistic freedom and challenges censorship on social media platforms, creating space for dialogue around visibility, community, and the rights of artists in the digital age. My work has been featured in The Nation, Hyperallergic, The Art Newspaper, W, Dazed, and Vice, among other publications.
