After being away for a couple of yrs, I find very little activity on here. Indeed, the first page of this forum still shows posts from 2023. That seems to indicate models especially, either are not participating, or they are ignoring the site altogether. I wonder if anyone else feels that way. Have they gone on to social media? I ask because I have personally, always avoided social media, and I seriously wonder if I can no longer do that. I ask also, because photographers seem to be the only ones using the forums, which doesn't make any sense, for models looking for work. Or, have the models' demands for agency type rates, put themselves out of the market altogether?

Models are still active but they don't post in the forums much because they get flamed when they do.

I’ve been shooting Art Nude for about 3 years, here in the Toronto outskirts..  All the models I’ve managed to find and those in my portfolio are through MM, in Toronto or Montreal.

I agree though after contacting 280 models, most have not replied, whereas I’ve managed to shoot with 40 models over the last 3 years.  All more that once and some 5- 12 times.

What I do find exasperating is the shortage of curvy models; most are slender Art models, lacking curves or heavily tattood which I avoid.

Because MM doesn't stop photographers from squeezing them out of their own forum and so Models got the hint and left.

In 2016-2018ish, if a model said much on the forums, a bunch of people would metaphorically rip her throat out. They took the hint.

There is nothing else happening, but what photographers post, in forums. That's pretty sad for a site that has members all over the planet.

As a meet up place for both models and photographers, it isn't working. In my own area, all the models on here, seem to be 30 plus, in age, and over, save one, who doesn't respond, to shoot offers, at all. I think it was pointless to return to this site, after a hiatus for health reasons.  There's no locals in my area, that are of interest. One wonders if they ever really do any work at all, or if they just ignore their own pages on here. One had not been updated for 9 yrs.

I'm deeply grateful to this site. It helped me find Erin (#34909), one of Canada's most talented models, and we collaborated on some truly unforgettable shoots. However, the site's current state is truly lamentable. It's no longer active, and few people rely on it to find models. I believe there are two reasons for this. First, the site's users are aging. Many models are over 30 years old, and their images are still from the past. It's clear they still rely on the site, but their bodies have changed and they're no longer looking their best, which is detrimental to nude models. Many young models today simply don't know how to use the platform to promote themselves and find opportunities. Over time, photographers have become disillusioned with the site, unable to find their ideal models. Second, the site's strict moderation policies have resulted in many photographers and models being permanently banned for infractions, with no chance of correction or reinstatement. This has led to a significant loss of users. I've seen many talented photographers and models permanently banned, which is very sad. If these two factors aren't addressed, the site's influence will eventually fade, something none of us want to see.

Your post fails to address the fact that more and more young people are interested in modelling ...but they are going to other social media sites

I totally agree with you. If this website cannot attract young people to use it, it will have no future. In addition, the website lacks an English translation function, which excludes a large number of photographers and models who cannot speak English, greatly limiting the influence of Modlemayhem.

As a model, I regularly received requests from photographers for shoots until about May.
Before that, several times a month.
After that, I never received an inbox message again.
Is this related to the site becoming less active in other ways as well?

I went to your profile to leave a message but you cancelled your account right after posting.
