Do you still have the license key for Lightroom 5 from back when you bought it?  If so, you can try to download the installer from some links on Adobe's own forum.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroo … p/12632391

You'll find two links at the top of the message thread on Adobe's forum page for the Win and Mac installers.  If you don't still have a valid license key though you won't be able to use the installers.

If this works, you won't be able to process any RAW files produced by new cameras.

Actually, there are about a zillion ways to take raw files from newer cameras and convert them to raw DNG's or TIFF's (or other desired formats) that older software can process.

Here is a tutorial on just one of those ways.

However, it might be better for OP to first try  one of the powerful, free, open-source raw developers mentioned in my above post.  Of the three apps linked, RapidRaw might be the closest to Lightroom in regards to the user interface.

Options:

1. Take the boot drive from the problematic computer and put it into a replacement computer as that computer's boot drive.

This assumes that the boot device of the model of the problematic computer can be physically replaced ...
This also assumes that the Lightroom software is installed on the boot device of your computer and not on a non-boot device.

Step 1. Find a replacement computer on E-Bay or in used computer stores that is in working order.
That replacement computer should be of the same model and year as the problematic computer.
That replacement computer will need to at least have the minimum amount of RAM that lightroom requires.
That replacement computer can have a slower CPU and/or GPU.
Step 2. Replace the boot drive of the replacement computer that you have found with the boot drive of the problematic computer.
Step 3. Startup the replacement computer to see if it boots with the old boot drive in it.
           - If the replacement computer won't boot to the operating system then it is likely that another option should be tried.
           - If the replacement computer boots to the operating system, then try running Lightroom.
             - If Lightroom works properly, then that is a solution.

2. Assuming that you still have the activation key or serial number of the version of Lightroom that you want to work with, and that only the Lightroom software is damaged and/or missing files in the problematic environment, then try the various trusted URL links of Lightroom installers to try to re-install the Lightroom software that are mentioned in this thread.

3. If you can't get your old version of Lightroom to run or re-install successfully, and it is the only software having problems on your computer, then consider installing a Lightroom like application that is compatible with your computer's operating system version.

You may need to create DNG or TIFF files from the RAW files that you have in order to then use the replacement application.

Capture One still has a perpetual license option for its software, which is what I've been using ever since Mac OS updates stopped supporting my hard disc copy of Photoshop CS6. I've never been a Lightroom user, but Capture One is certainly a pro-grade option with extensive cataloguing capabilities, excellent camera/lens support, and more editing features than most other options.
