Does anyone else notice that the photographer pages almost always have better images than the model pages?  I hope not to see the Its all relative and the art is subjective bits, but here goes.

I see photographer's portfolios as having a greater selection of models and variety of genre; providing insight to their style. Whereas a model is only one individual having their own images in the way they envisage themselves and the ones they prefers to use as promotional.  Typically boring to see the same individual in every photo, just dressed/undressed differently.

It has been suggested that some models on MM keep their image quality down,
so they don't discourage paying newbies or GWCs from contacting them.

Also, there are a lot of "models" here that have never shot with many actual photographers and likely never will.

I recently photographed a woman who has a lot of irons in the fire - modeling wasn’t first, but well behind cosplaying and performing.  Her port here reflects her interests, with some good model photography but other pix showing her other pursuits. Still, her suitability as a model wasn’t in question, and if she could find the right shooter, maybe she could cover some other interests too. What photographer hasn’t wanted to shoot cosplay?

My portfolio doesn’t show much variety or reach. I think it shows consistency, technique and my aesthetic. Looking at it bores the hell outta me, but its purpose (here at MM) is to show models what I’m about and what to expect. Quiet, happy, contrasty black and white, and very, very naked. If they want digitally altered color images with clothing, they should know to look elsewhere.

Photographers are sometimes capable of skilfully editing their images, in such ways that the enhanced image no longer faithfully represents their original image, or their model's actual face and figure.

Photoshop and now AI is quickly changing how a models appearance, including the look of their surroundings, can be altered from the original unedited version.

Unfortunately for models, even those with excellent editing skills, are often frowned upon for daring to re-edit a photographer's image.
