Hi All,

I have a question for all the photographers here. Maybe some of the more experienced photographers can guide me and other newbies.

When we hire a model from MM or another platform for a nude or boudoir shoot, we pay them their fee, which is fine. But how does a photographer make income from those photos?

Kind Regards,
Jeet

Sell to magazines & collectors. Also sell prints in gallery exhibitions and print your own books.

Lots of luck!

Well first lets address the elephant in the room....
Alot, perhaps the vast majority, of photographers on MM aren't making money.
That said, what are your expectations?

Traditionally most boudoir or nude photographers made money by having actual clients.
People hired them to create images of them,
advertisers hired them to create images for advertising campaigns,
magazine or publishers hired them to create images for publication.
This still happens.

A smaller group made money creating their own market,
Selling prints, creating books, selling art.
This also still happens.

I don't know that any of the above (other than not making money) is easy.

All of the above is how it is done.

It is our other types of photography and non-photography jobs that are funding our model photography. Those unfortune enough to have their work get noticed can then turn that attention to making money off model photography. Either through clients or self-publishing. Both even harder to do these days. There're fewer places to get noticed and very few of them are model photography friendly. Those paying clients maybe a thing of the past. In this economy fewer people, be spending money on pictures for themselves. Commerical clients always interested in saving money have been leaning more towards AI.
