My copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 is incompatible with macOS Tahoe Version 26.2: "Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer because the minimum system requirement is Mac OS X version." This means that currently I can not open any of my ".psd" files using my Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor 14.

This is the second time I have been forced into upgrading to the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements.

However this time I will have to pay a yearly subscription to Adobe. Which is an absolute pain as I could do all I needed to do using Adobe Photoshop Elements 14.

Has any other member experienced this latest apple software update impacting their version of Adobe Photoshop Elements?

I imagine if you are using the latest subscription version from Adobe Photoshop Elements you won't be having this problem. But before I proceed to purchase a subscription, I would appreciate to hear if the current subscription version of Adobe Photoshop Elements is compatible with the latest apple software update macOS Tahoe Version 26.2.

Cheers

There are very low cost non adobe options ...
They involve some degree of learning curve ...
And most of them can open psds ...
then again, you might just want adobe, and that's fine too big_smile

Consider buying an old (used) Mac that runs an operating system version that is compatible with Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 and dedicate that old Mac to be used only for post processing with PSE 14.

Configure the old Mac to use a local static IP address (I.E. No DHCP features enabled) and do not configure any TCP/IP gateway address for that old Mac. That configuration will make it a Local Area Network only computer, assuming that TCP/IP is the only network protocol that it is configured to use.

FYI
I use 2025 and have not encountered any problems.  The startup notice reminds me to upgrade everytime; I just avoid it.
It really is worth upgrading as some of the tools are improved.

I have kept and purchased older model computers in order to run and view files from past software versions. I have an antique PC laptop to run and use Microsoft PictureIt and a IMac to run an earlier version of Photoshop Elements that once I saw that an apple software update stopped my access to a slightly earlier version of adobe Photo Elements, I decided to never update to any of the latest apple software updates on this computer.

However while this means I can still use this computer to view and work on my .psd files, leaving it out-of-date with Apple updates in the long run becomes problematic with my other software needs.

My 13" laptop which I was using to run photoelements 14 died, so I now have an amazing 2yr old MacBook Pro, which I wish to keep updated with the latest apple upgrades. I guess adobe introduced their subscription policy to fix the ongoing problem of incompatibility between Apple upgrades with their older software versions.

After the weekend I will look into what adobe has to offer. I was just wondering what other members think about the latest subscription version of Adobe Photo Elements.

Thank you to all those who have kindly responded to my thread. I decided to purchase a 3 year licence for Adobe Photo Elements and Premier 2026. Even though Affinity is now free software.
