The thing about the dinosaurs...
I've heard the word dinosaur used to describe photographers who still use film. I suppose the intention was as a pejorative term. However, the thing about the dinosaurs was they were here for about 180 million ( 180,000,000 ) years, and it took a global catastrophe to eradicate them. So I guess it's pretty impressive to be a dinosaur.
And birds are still around so I guess we still have a connection to dinosaurs. Just a thought... ![]() Apr 18 26 04:35 pm Link I say good for you, march to your own drummer. It would be nice to experience the smell of a dark room again and watching in anticipation as an image slowly comes into view. Apr 18 26 07:23 pm Link My darkroom hasn’t been used as a darkroom for more than two decades, today it does admiral service as a “man cave”. Apr 18 26 09:12 pm Link I haven't shot a frame of film in at least twenty years and can't see any reason to return to it, even though I still have my three Canon F1s with drives attached and at least a dozen FD lenses.
But, to paraphrase that overused line, oft quoted from "Apocalypse Now,": I love the smell of hypo in the morning! LOL Apr 18 26 09:21 pm Link I was fine up un till the mention of the hypo. LOL. Apr 19 26 07:03 am Link Ehhhhh, film is for the Photo Dinos and today's cool kids.
Use it if it works for you. Here is a little something that is easy to do with "film" but doesn't really have a digital equivellent....
Barnegate Bay Pinhole Solargraph (ultra long pinhole exposure on Ilford RC paper) Apr 19 26 06:04 pm Link This may be great for photographers who still want to use their analog cameras. Kinda pricey right now but odds are good costs will drop. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/came … l-re-birth Apr 24 26 10:43 am Link Light Writer wrote: To be a dinosaur would be a really unique selling proposition...
